Clinic Location and Access

Jaadu Acupuncture is located at 3645 Grand Avenue, Suite 102, Oakland, CA 94610. The front door is open and the clinic is to your left on the first floor. There’s a short flight of stairs to enter the building and an elevator next to the stairs for your use. Please text us if you need to use the elevator so we can unlock it. After 6:30pm or if the front door is locked, enter 102 on the call box to be buzzed into the building.

Sliding Scale, Services & Fees

I am committed to providing acupuncture at a reasonable rate, that also allows me to build and sustain a practice in the Bay Area. I want you to be able to receive acupuncture enough to get and stay well. I want to be part of changing what healthcare looks like in the U.S. And, I want to challenge our reliance on Insurance and Big Pharma - two systems that have ruined equitable, fair, and decent medicine and healthcare in this country. Everyone is guaranteed the same thorough and consistent care, regardless of what you pay.

  • Initial Acupuncture Intake & Appointment (60-90 min in person) | $110 - $160

  • Follow-Up Acupuncture Sessions (60 min in person) | $80 - $135

  • Initial Herbal/Medical Consultation Only (60 min by video) | $110 - $160

  • Follow-Up Herbal/Medical Check-In (15 - 25 min by video) | $60 - $100

  • Late Cancellation Fee (all cancellations within 24 hours of any appointment) | $90 or your regular fee, whichever is higher

You decide how much you can pay on the scale. When you are able to pay at the higher end of the scale, you make it possible for me to see more patients for free or below the lowest end of the scale. I will see patients from $0 on up. These spots are prioritized for working class people, who are financially struggling to make ends meet, and those who commit their time to social justice movement work at working class pay.

Cancellation Policy:
I have a 24-hour cancellation policy.  This means if you cancel, miss or re-schedule within 24 hours of your original appointment, regardless of the reason, you are asked to pay a cancellation fee (see above). Please make every effort to make your scheduled appointment time, or change your appointments prior to the 24-hour window so others can access your spot if you can't make it.

If you arrive 15 minutes or later for your scheduled appointment, I cannot guarantee that I can see you. This does count as a missed appointment if I'm unable to take you.

Forms of Payment:
We take credit/debit card, cash, and check. I do not take insurance, however I am happy to provide you with a receipt that you can try to use with your insurance provider.

COVID-19 Safety

For all patients’ well-being, we continue to require that masks are worn in the clinic by everyone, patients and practitioners. Many people with chronic illness, compromised immune systems, and debilitating diseases visit Jaadu Acupuncture frequently, and we all play a part in keeping each other safe. Other practitioners and their clients will also be in the clinic and may not require masking.

If you have COVID-type symptoms, or you or someone in your home tests positive for the virus, please do not come into the clinic. If you’d like, we can turn your appointment into a video consult so I can support you in navigating the infection effectively with herbs, nutritional advice, or other support.

Since 2020 there has been no known spread of the coronavirus through my clinic. Our protocols have been strong and effective.

  • The table and other touch points are frequently sanitized.

  • Air purifiers will be running constantly, and windows are open when they can be.

  • Intakes are meaningful, but brief to limit in-person exposure time.

  • Try to wear loose fitting clothing to appointments.

What to Expect

  • Once you’ve booked your first appointment, you will fill out paperwork online in your patient portal prior to your initial appointment.

  • All acupuncture sessions last about one hour. Initial sessions may last 1.5 hours.

  • Side effects of acupuncture and herbal treatments are infrequent, and tend to be very mild if/when they occur. They are rarely cause for concern. If you experience any soreness, bruising, digestive upset, dizziness, fatigue, or anything else that feels unusual or alarming, please don't hesitate to contact the clinic. I find acupuncture to be a powerful and safe healing modality, and want you to experience that too.

  • You may feel sleepy or energized after an acupuncture session. It can take your body one to a few days to integrate a treatment. If you ever feel like you’re experiencing negative impacts from a treatment (feeling agitated, wiped out, anxiety, or the symptom you came in with worsened), please contact me so I can attend to your concern.

  • Acupuncture and herbal medicine can be effective for many physical, emotional and energetic concerns and ailments. It is a whole system of medicine, practiced for 5000 years, including through countless epidemics. If you are coming in with a long-standing issue, we may not treat it overnight, but you should notice positive change after each treatment. Over time, I hope you experience the transformative force that this old and loving medicine has to offer.
